Patriots Place Will Campbell on Injured Reserve; Add Miles Battle to 53-Man Roster, Bring Back Brandon Crossley
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The New England Patriots announced a series of roster moves on Tuesday, headlined by rookie tackle Will Campbell being placed on injured reserve.
The team also promoted CB Miles Battle to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and re-signed rookie CB Brandon Crossley to the practice squad.

Miles Battle Added to Active Roster
Battle, 25, originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs in May 2024 after playing at Utah. The 6-foot-3, 197-pound cornerback joined the Patriots practice squad on Oct. 15, 2024, and later earned a promotion to the active roster in January 2025, appearing in the season finale against Buffalo. In that game he tallied two tackles and three passes defended.
Battle was released at the end of training camp this summer and returned to the practice squad. He was elevated for the Week 7 matchup in Tennessee, contributing on special teams.
Brandon Crossley Returns to Practice Squad
Crossley, 24, signed with New England as an undrafted rookie on May 9, 2025, following a five-year college career split between Colorado State (2019) and SMU (2020–24). The 5-foot-11, 186-pound defensive back posted 146 tackles, six interceptions, and 30 passes defended during his collegiate career.
He was released during final roster cuts on Aug. 26, briefly spent time on the practice squad, and now returns to the unit following today’s moves.
