Patriots Set to Debut New “Rivalries” Uniform in 2025
Big news out of the NFL today — the New England Patriots are getting a brand-new uniform look this season, but only for a limited showing.
As part of a fresh initiative from Nike and the NFL called the “Rivalry” program, the Patriots will join the rest of the AFC East and NFC West in rocking a newly-designed uniform for one home game in 2025; which will be against a division rival *hence the Rivalries name*. These Rivalry uniforms are built off feedback and ideas drawn directly from each team’s local community, adding a unique regional flair to the traditional gameday attire.
It’s possible that they take a similar route that the Celtics took with their alternate uniforms – and by that I mean – completely different than what we expect. I highly doubt they’d switch the colors up though. That is doable in the NBA due to the excessive amount of games you have in a season. The NFL is different. I think they will keep the Patriots color scheme. It should be an interesting move to watch going into the season.
After doing some digging, I could not find any “sneak peak” or “leaks” on the uniforms or even simply a description of what we should expect out of these things.
While we don’t yet know which division opponent the Patriots will wear the look against, that will become clear once the full NFL schedule is revealed on May 14. Nike will also unveil the full design details prior to kickoff of the first Rivalry matchup.
What’s important to note for Patriots fans is this: the iconic red “Pat Patriot” throwbacks aren’t going anywhere. These new Rivalries uniforms will simply be added to the rotation — not replacing anything — and will be part of the team’s alternate uniform options for the next three seasons.
This will mark the first time New England introduces a new uniform concept since 2020, when they officially moved on from the Tom Brady-era dynasty uniforms. Fans looking for a fresh look from the team — this one’s for you.
