After nearly a decade of service in Foxborough, the New England Patriots and front office executive Camren Williams are going their separate ways. Williams, who has been a steady hand in the team’s scouting department since 2016, has accepted a new role with the Denver Broncos as their co-director of player personnel.
Williams’ time in New England began as a scouting assistant under Bill Belichick. From there, he climbed the internal ladder—working as an area scout, a national scout, and most recently serving as the Patriots’ director of college scouting. His fingerprints were on numerous draft classes during a transitional stretch for the franchise, helping identify foundational players as the team moved into the post-Brady era.
Now, with Mike Vrabel and Eliot Wolf ushering in a new wave of leadership, Williams is heading west. The Broncos—currently undergoing their own front office shakeup—brought him in to work alongside Reed Burckhardt, helping general manager George Paton reshape the personnel department.
This move isn’t just about job titles. It reflects the changing tides in both organizations. In New England, Vrabel has already begun putting his stamp on the front office, hiring names like Ryan Cowden and John Streicher in major executive roles. The Williams departure signals yet another chapter closing from the Belichick regime.
