NFL Proposes Major Playoff Seeding Change… and It Could Be Huge
The NFL is currently discussing a potential change to how playoff teams are seeded — and if this proposal goes through, it could reshape the postseason landscape as we know it.
Under the current rules, division winners automatically get a top-four seed — even if a Wild Card team has a better record. But this new proposal would change that, seeding all playoff teams purely by win-loss record, not division standing. Division winners would STILL be guaranteed a playoff spot – so don’t panic.
