ESPN Analytics dropped its latest playoff projections for the AFC teams — and SURPRISE, SURPRISE! – The New England Patriots were once again near the bottom. Listed with just a 32% chance to make the postseason, the ranking puts New England behind teams like the Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Let’s be clear: nobody is denying the Patriots’ brutal 4 win 2024 season. But with Mike Vrabel taking over as head coach, Josh McDaniels returning to run the offense, and second-year quarterback Drake Maye surrounded by an upgraded supporting cast, it’s fair to ask if ESPN’s model is sleeping on New England’s upside.

The AFC is crowded — no doubt. But after breaking down the list, it’s hard to justify the Patriots being placed below some of these other squads. Whether it’s Tua’s durability concerns in Miami and everything else surrounding that team, the Colts banking on Anthony Richardson or Daniel Jones?

In our latest video, I break down the full list and give my honest reaction to ESPN’s playoff percentages. I explain why I believe the Patriots deserve more respect — and why they should be right in the mix when it’s all said and done. If you’re a Pats fan who believes in the direction this team is headed, this one’s for you.
