The NFL Top 100 list is one of the most anticipated rankings of the offseason, and for the second-year cornerback Christian Gonzalez, it’s a major sign of respect to crack the list at all — especially in a league filled with superstars on both sides of the ball. Coming in at #84 overall, Gonzalez officially has the attention of his peers. But if you ask us here at Pats Planet, the conversation shouldn’t stop there. It should start there.
Gonzo’s rookie year was looking extremely promising before going down with an injury. But Year 2? He came back nothing short of impressive. While he didn’t put up gaudy interception numbers (just 2 on the season), the stats don’t tell the full story. Gonzalez lined up against opposing WR1s nearly every single week and held his own — often erasing top targets with clean technique, elite footwork, and LOCKDOWN man coverage. He was quietly one of the most reliable corners in the league, and his tape backs it up. Being ranked #84 means the league knows he’s legit… but it still feels like he’s being a bit overlooked rather than truly appreciated.
Why do we believe Gonzalez deserves an even higher spot entering Year 3?
📺 I break it all down in our newest video — going beyond the headline to show you why Gonzo is on the path to top 50, and why this ranking is only the beginning. Head over to YouTube and check out the full breakdown.
