The New England Patriots officially kicked off 2025 training camp today at Gillette Stadium! The energy was strong and the pace picked up right where minicamp and OTAs left off.

Quarterback Drake Maye looked sharp, completing 8-of-9 passes during 11-on-11 work and commanding the offense with confidence. He showcased the type of leadership we’ve been raving about since OTAs. He really seemed in rhythm with the WRs, spreading the ball around. One of those wideouts, rookie Kyle Williams, made the catch of the day, hauling in a nice grab over Christian Gonzalez that got the crowd buzzing.
On the defensive side, the unit brought pressure throughout, tallying what would’ve been at least FOUR sacks. A standout moment came when Keion White bull-rushed rookie left tackle Will Campbell, flashing the explosiveness that makes him a breakout candidate in Year 2. Campbell had an up-and-down day, as expected from a rookie, but showed enough to build on. Some people called his day “bad”. I wouldn’t go that far. I’d say his day was “okay/pretty good”. Do we want better? Of course. But with no pads – the DL is going to be at an advantage, especially on the first day.
Side Notes:
Garrett Bradbury took the majority of first-team reps at center, but undrafted rookie Jared Wilson also rotated in — a camp battle to keep an eye on.
Attendance notes: WRs Ja’Lynn Polk and Mack Hollins did not participate. TE Austin Hooper and OT Vederian Lowe are on the PUP list, while S Josh Minkins was placed on NFI.
Plenty of storylines are already developing, and Day 2 promises more action as full team sessions ramp up. Stay locked in with Pats Planet for your daily training camp coverage as we’ll be present each and every day!
